    Small non-coding RNAs total genomic size

    Dear Seqanswers users,

    I am thinking to go into non-coding sequencing with our Illumina machine. I cannot find a good source of information how to estimate a total length of small non-coding RNAs region size to plan experiment (how many samples can I multiplex). In other words what length small non-coding RNAs occupy in the genome ?

    Looking forward to hear some suggestions

    Data variability is still an issue in sequencing technologies despite the advances in reproducibility and accuracy of these platforms. But the problem does not originate in the sequencing itself, but in the previous steps, before the sample reaches the sequencer.

    The first step is collection, followed by preservation and sample preparation for analysis. Most scientists overlook those steps, but not being careful might just be skewing the experiment’s results.
