RNA fragmentation in presence of heat and Mg++

Hi -

I am working on a protocol for RNA sequencing and attempting to heat fragment the RNA using Mg++. Does anyone have a protocol for this? I have tried heat shearing 500ng total RNA at 94^oC in the presence of 10mM Mg2+ but observed relatively no difference in the final fragmentation profile. Are very specific reaction conditions required?
