Quality Evaluation and Data Massaging Tutorial?

Hello,

I'm looking for a good source of information about evaluating the quality of raw reads (like interpreting FastQC reports) and using this information to effectively trim and and filter the data (using various trimming software). I've done this several times now and produced good results but only because I was following instructions from papers that provided the data. If there's any website or youtube video that could be help me understand this process, as a novice in this field, that would be great.
