    optimizing transcriptome assembly

    Hi All,

I wanted to make sure people have seen the new Oyster River Protocol for transcriptome assembly. In brief, it’s an evidence based protocol for optimizing assembly providing recommendations from the how many reads to generate, to how to report results, and everything in between. The protocol itself is here, the manuscript here, and the blog post here..

Feel free to use and share with whoever, as you see fit. I’m happy to answer questions either here, or (preferably?), on Gitter https://gitter.im/macmanes-lab/Oyster_River_Protocol.

Thank you for your efforts, this is very useful! Do you have any plans to distribute this via docker / VM ?

I had not thought to, but do you think that would be helpful for people?
