    SOLiD 5500 Series Genetic Analysis System: Next-Generation Sequencing System From Life Technologies


    The SOLiD 5500 Series Genetic Analysis Systems are highly accurate, massively parallel next-generation sequencing platforms that support a wide range of research applications on a per-lane basis with pay per lane sequencing (PPL-Seq). With platform-optimized sample preparation, individually configurable sequencing lanes, superior sequencing chemistry, and biologist-friendly data analysis solutions, the 5500 Series Genetic Analysis Systems offer the utmost in flexibility and accuracy.
    The system comes with a UPS system and is in good working condition and is being sold “as is”.

    SOLiD4 Sequencing Systems: Next-Generation Sequencing System From Life Technologies

    We have four (4) SOLiD4 sequencing systems available for sale. The SOLiD4 Sequencing Systems are highly accurate, massively parallel next-generation sequencing platforms that support a wide range of research applications. The SOLiD4 open slide format and flexible bead densities have allowed increases in yield and throughput with minimal upgrades.

    The system comes with a UPS system and is in good working condition and is being sold “as is”.


    SOLiD EZB Systems

    EZB Emulsifier (1)

    This is the Emulsifier component of the SOLiD™ EZ Bead™ System. The Emulsifier combines an aqueous phase with an oil phase, creating a microreactor emulsion, bringing the necessary reagents and components for amplifying the library of interest onto a solid surface. This process takes up to 30 minutes to complete, depending on the desired bead yield.

    EZB Amplifier (1)

    The Amplifier component of the SOLiD™ EZ Bead™ System clonally amplifies library template within 3.5 hours, such that there are on average >60,000 copies of a particular library DNA fragment per bead. This level of template density is important for a strong sequencing signal. The system allows for bulk preparations to generate high yields of quality templated beads.

    EZB Enricher (2)

    The Enricher component of the SOLiD™ EZ Bead™ System releases beads from the amplified reaction mixture and then selects for and retains only those beads which are templated. This process is completed within 3.5 hours.

    All SOLiD EXB systems are in good working condition and are being sold “as is”.

    Love this - good data definitely starts from good input, and poor input can only give relatively poor data. I particularly like the mention of Nanodrop/absorbance based methods for quantification. It's such a toss up if you'll get an accurate reading or what amounts to a randomly generated number, and a lot of library/sequencing related issues can be traced back to poor quant.

    I’m not a sequencing expert. I’m a purification scientist who uses NGS to evaluate workflows my group develops. With this perspective, we think about the sample first and the NGS workflow second. The sequencer is an exceptionally honest reporter, but it can only report on what you give it, so whether you get clean, interpretable data from an NGS workflow is largely determined before you begin.
