    Picogreen vs Kappa quantitation kits

    Hello folks,

According to the threads, everybody suggests Kappa Quantification kit than Picogreen which is recommended by Roche.

Why is it so? and what is the difference between them in results? can someone explain me indetail.

can the picogreen be used with the Lightcycler 480?

    Thanks

For me, it depends on what I am doing. For pooling a large number of amplicons, the PicoGreen is much easier for me. Once they are pooled, I use the Kapa kit to get a more accurate measurement of the number of molecules that will amplify in emPCR. For Rapid Libraries, I just follow the protocol (not that many customers want rapid libraries...)

The main difference between the methods is that the PicoGreen will measure all of the DNA in the sample, whereas the Kapa kit will only measure the DNA that has the proper sequences and should amplify in emPCR. I've been using the Kapa kit for about 8 months now, and the sequencing results have been steadily improving.

Multiomic Liquid Biopsy: What DNA/RNA Panels Reveal That DNA Alone Can’t
      by SEQadmin2

Tumors contain complex mixtures of cell populations that evolve in response to treatment and host-specific factors. Tissue biopsies provide only static snapshots of a tumor’s state. But what if we could follow that evolution over time using a minimally invasive technique?

Liquid biopsies can detect tumor-derived material circulating in the bloodstream, providing a way to study treatment response, detect emerging resistance, and discover new biomarkers. Circulating

New Genomics Technologies Take Aim at Long-Standing Limits
      by SEQadmin2

Researchers using sequencing and genomics tools often have to make trade-offs. They can choose between speed or scale, short reads or long-range information, or targeted panels or a view of the whole transcriptome. New technologies that have been released this year are built to address those tough choices.

We asked six companies the same four questions to learn about their latest products. The new technologies bring a lot to the table, including rethinking sequencing
