RNA:DNA mixture --> library prep ? potential issues

I am doing metagenomic sequencing of a mixed bacterial population. I did a column extraction on a sample that should have just included bacteria but I realized that I have a high amount of RNA in my extraction elluent ~50:50 ratio.

I am contemplating doing an RNase treatment vs reextracting to reduce my RNA or simply moving forward with the mixed RNA/DNA sample. I don't think the exonuclease will extend on RNA or if RNA can get phosphorelated but I am not sure.

Does anyone have experience with this?

    Thanks
    Jake
