    454 Configuration Management

    Has anyone ever upgraded the RedHat linux distribution on an instrument computer attached to an FLX instrument? This is the computer that comes bundled with the instrument, not a locally-maintained off-instrument rig.

    If you have, please post here, along with whether there were any negative side effects (such as breakages to the instrument run, flawed final results from processing, GUIs affected, etc.). Ideally, you did such an upgrade and nothing went wrong.

    I ask because the instruments are shipped with fairly old versions of RedHat.

    Oh, and here's another thought: anyone have an instrument computer delivered with a RedHat version newer than Red Hat 3.4.5-2 ?
