    SOLiD 3 - SAGE kit

    Hi !

Is anybody using ABI's SOLiD 3 SAGE kit, and in particular, running SOLiD SAGE Analysis Software version 1.06 ?

    Hi,
I did not know that also ABI sells such a kit. I thought it is from Invitrogen. Am I wrong?
    All the best

      Hi, Peter

I don't know about the vender; you might be right there.
The SAGE guidebook I am using is mentioning AB and Invitrogen.

      Thank you for your information.

      Regards!

Life Tech has bought Invitrogen. The SAGE kit is originally from Invitrogen but now carries an ABI branding. We will be using the SAGE kit in the near future, and most probably will be using the SAGE software from solidsoftwaretools.com.

That's great. So, the ABI SAGE community gets little by little bigger...
Please let me know your experiences! Thank you and best regards!

Hey guys, how did you end up with SOLiD SAGE? I'm working with Human Genome, and I have the feeling that the program is not functioning well, esp. that it's sooo slow! Did you guys find some alternative programs?

Love this - good data definitely starts from good input, and poor input can only give relatively poor data. I particularly like the mention of Nanodrop/absorbance based methods for quantification. It's such a toss up if you'll get an accurate reading or what amounts to a randomly generated number, and a lot of library/sequencing related issues can be traced back to poor quant.

I’m not a sequencing expert. I’m a purification scientist who uses NGS to evaluate workflows my group develops. With this perspective, we think about the sample first and the NGS workflow second. The sequencer is an exceptionally honest reporter, but it can only report on what you give it, so whether you get clean, interpretable data from an NGS workflow is largely determined before you begin.

Here are nine questions we think about, in roughly the order they matter, before...
