Join us for a live, on-line tutorial on Integrated Genome Browser:
"Focus on a Feature: Working with Sequence Data."
Date: Wed 1-2 pm EDT Sept 25
Integrated Genome Browser (IGB) is a highly interactive, fast and flexible desktop genome browser mainly used to view data from RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, and other genome-scale data sets. IGB also supports viewing and interacting with sequence data from reference genomes, gene models, or alignments. For example, in IGB, you can select and copy sequence directly from the genome sequence track or view six-frame translations in a text-based Sequence Viewer display.
In this tutorial, you'll learn how to
Example data sets will include cold stress or pollen RNA-Seq data from Arabidopsis thaliana.
To ensure that you'll be able to do the exercises along with the presenter, please test-run IGB before the tutorial. To download and start IGB, go to bioviz.org and followed the "Download" links. Once IGB starts, choose Help / Tutorials for a quick introduction to IGB.

In this tutorial, you'll learn how to
- select and copy reference genome sequence
- view, copy, or save sequence data
- translate sequences in all 6 frames
- view, copy or save gene model sequences with or without introns
- configure how sequence bases are shown
- open genomic sequence as a track
Example data sets will include cold stress or pollen RNA-Seq data from Arabidopsis thaliana.
