    Miseq

    Hello, I work with the Miseq from illumina, I have been looking all around for an answer but cannot find one. When you open the reagent cooler door is there water that is at the bottom of it where you put your tray in? Is this something normal should I be emptying it out? I do not know how or cannot find any information about it so I just wanted to see if this was normal.

    Hello bigal, can you send a picture of what you're referring to? I used to work a lot on the MiSeq, but primarily did the NextSeq. I can probably answer your question if I can see what you are talking about.

      That tray is the bottom of the chiller, we commonly see moisture there in both of ours. It could be water from your reagent cartridges if you thaw them in a water bath and don't fully dry them after, it could also be condensation forming in the chiller from humidity. That, or someone is being sloppy with filling wash trays and excess wash solution is dripping through the drain holes. It can be safely wiped out, and as long as your chiller is holding temperature in the correct range it's nothing to be concerned by.

        SnapSeq thank you so much for this information! Do you know what the best method is to take out this water? Theres no concerns but I just thought it would be best to take it out regardless.

          Humidity could also be causing condensation to form inside the chiller.
