  • emPCR additive

Anybody have an idea what the emPCR additive actually is?

    DMSO? Betaine? Tw20? Magic?

  • #2
Must be some magic, because some replaced that with DMSO and betaine (like Illumina does) and have much better yields during emulsion breaking.

not sure what it is exactly, a stabilizer i presume. anyway, tech support has told me that not spinning down the undissolved precipitate in the additive and adding the precipitate to our emulsion can cause the emulsions to break. They said just get most of the supernatant even though it is less than the required amount and it should be fine.
