Script to convert 75x35 bp to 50x35 bp reads SOLiD 5500

Dear All,
has someone developed a script to convert SOLiD 5500xl output (xsq) from 75x35bp to 50x35bp. In other words to cut last 25 bp in every read before alignement.

If you are using BioScope/LifeScope, I am pretty sure there is a parameter you can give that tells the mapping engine to only use the first X bases.
