    Can someone explain how Ribo Zero works?

    I'm using the Ribo Zero Magnetic Kit from Epicentre and I get that somehow my rRNA ends up bounds to the beads and my ribo-depleted RNA is in the supernatant but I am not sure on the specifics. Can anyone help with this? Specifically: -

    - What is in the ribosomal removal solution. Are they oligos that are specific for ribosomal RNA?

    - I have found a paper mentioning that the ribo zero kit uses a hybrid substraction technique but not sure what this is?

    - Why does my ribosomal RNA end up bound to beads but the rest doesn't?

    Check the Ribo-Zero FAQ, specifically #9 and #14, and a better description is hybridization/capture not hybrid subtraction.
