Nanopore: Input cDNA Length vs. Read Length?

    Hi All,

I'm trying to get an idea of the processivity of Nanopore. For instance, do the pores reliably read the full length of 5 kb DNA molecules, or do they dissociate from the pore before completing? I want to be sure there isn't a substantial negative bias toward long DNA molecules, because those are of interest in my experiment. Seems like comparing the length distribution of the cDNA input to the read length distribution would address this question, but I'm having trouble finding reports/publications that include the distribution of the cDNA library.

For those of you with hands on experience, do you find that the length of cDNA libraries agree with the length of the output reads?

    Dear JVGen,
for all I know about Nanopore sequencing, it should be able to sequence even the longest cDNAs.
Maybe you can find something useful here: https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...892v1.full.pdf

    Good luck!

16S/ITS Profiling vs. Shotgun Metagenomics: What Changes in Your Workflow?
      by SEQadmin2

NGS has revolutionized clinical microbiology by offering new ways to identify and surveil pathogens without prior knowledge of the target. One popular approach is 16S rRNA and ITS amplicon sequencing, which targets specific microbial markers. But studies are increasingly incorporating shotgun metagenomics, a technique that sequences all DNA from a sample without targeting specific microbial markers. This approach allows more detailed taxonomic classification, detection...

Multiomic Liquid Biopsy: What DNA/RNA Panels Reveal That DNA Alone Can’t
      by SEQadmin2

Tumors contain complex mixtures of cell populations that evolve in response to treatment and host-specific factors. Tissue biopsies provide only static snapshots of a tumor’s state. But what if we could follow that evolution over time using a minimally invasive technique?

Liquid biopsies can detect tumor-derived material circulating in the bloodstream, providing a way to study treatment response, detect emerging resistance, and discover new biomarkers. Circulating
